The core thread is the natural carrier thread made of either jute or wool. Superior quality wool is spun around this thread in our in-house spinning mill.

19. Where does the wool come from?

Soft and light as a feather – a natural product from New Zealand, the country of the long white cloud.
There are varoius breeds of sheep and therefore also different qualities of wool. We use New Zealand wool, unmatched due to its yarn count and resilience of fibre.

Abundant pastures, mild temperatures, moderate rainfall and numerous hours of sunshine make this wool one of the classiest and best tolerated fibres of the world.

German wool has difficulties keeping up with world markets. Compared to the bright white delicate qualities produced in New Zealand, local producers have a rather hard time competing in the fields of prices and quality.

We do not use any substances containing permithren. Our rugs therefore do not cause any risk of allergies. This is also confirmed by independent testing institutes.

For our trend related colour schemes the wool is dyed in the dyeing mill. The dyeing process is based on well-proven procedures using acid- and metal complex dyes.

Superior quality dyeing provides for long lasting colour fidelity and wear resistance.
